Hallelujah-An Animist Version (A Song in Japanese with English Translation)

I am not against monotheistic religions, though I don’t believe in them. In this cruel world, people should be free to believe whatever brings them comfort.

I don’t believe I’ll be reborn as a moth or butterfly and meet my loved ones again, but the notion somehow brings me peace.

This is a tribute to my sister, who passed away years ago.

Note: In Japanese mythology, it was Susanoo’s father who visited the underworld. Here, I intentionally merged the roles for poetic effect, as one might do in a film adaptation.
